Alex Argo is a proud Lakota West grad (Class of 2002), an entrepreneur, a dad of three current Lakota students, and a hands-on community volunteer. He's running for Lakota School Board because he believes every child deserves the kind of education that sets them up for success—in school and in life.
Alex met his wife Liz in the Lakota West band room—they were stand partners and high school sweethearts. Today, they’re raising their three kids (4th, 6th, and 9th grade) right here in Liberty Township, cheering them on at concerts, games, and school events.
Back in high school, Alex and his friends spent a lot of time playing Euchre. That passion stuck—and after earning his Computer Science degree from Miami University, he turned that love of card games into a business. Alongside two fellow Lakota grads, he co-founded a successful mobile app company that brings strategy, fun, and a little friendly competition to phones around the world.
When he’s not working or on dad duty, Alex is deep in community life—serving on PTOs and PTAs, representing families on the Lakota District Parent Council, and leading a local Cub Scout pack as Cubmaster. Whether it’s at a school board meeting or at a campfire, Alex shows up, pitches in, and works hard for the kids in our community.
After years of leadership turnover, it's time for steady, student-focused governance. I’ll work to retain and support effective leaders who can build long-term trust and drive consistent progress.
Teachers and support staff are the backbone of our schools. I’ll advocate for policies and resources that reduce burnout, support innovation, and help every student thrive—academically and emotionally.
Subjects like art, music, PE, and foreign language play a key role in a well-rounded education. I support efforts to restructure how elementary specials are scheduled to allow for deeper, more consistent instruction, and to explore opportunities to expand early access to instrumental music and language programs—using our district’s scale and resources to benefit more students, earlier.
Modern, safe, and efficient buildings are essential to student success. I support the Master Facilities Plan and will ensure it is executed with transparency, community input, and financial responsibility.
Clear, timely communication strengthens partnerships between the board, schools, and families. I’ll advocate for open dialogue, accessible information, and a collaborative approach that keeps our community informed and involved.
